DO IT YOURSELF (DIY)
CHOOSE YOUR TILE:
Measure your floor to determine the square footage.
Always add about 10% more tile to your order to account
for waste and breakage. Go select the tile that will
make your room amazing.
|
How much square footage do I have?
|
PREPARE THE FLOOR:
Remove all the old flooring down to the sub-floor.
Replace any damaged or rotted sub-floor with new plywood
of the same thickness. To create a solid under-layment,
screw down sheets of cement-fiber backer board to the
sub-floor.
INSTALL THE TILE:
Do a partial dry layout along the center line of the
room to ensure uniformity of the tile. Now spread the
tile adhesive with a notched trowel and press the tile
into place. Use spacers between the tiles to ensure even
distance for straight grout lines.
GROUT AND SEAL:
Wait 24 hours. Mix the grout per the instructions and
spread it into the gaps between the tiles using a rubber
trowel. Use a damp sponge to gently wipe away excess
grout. For best results wait 48 hours and apply
Aqua Mix
professional grout sealer.
FINAL STEP:
Now there is only one thing left to do. Sit back relax
and enjoy the new look of the room that you created.
